Service Description

This recertification course refreshes the knowledge and practical skills required to assess patients, provide appropriate emergency interventions, and deliver ongoing care in pre-hospital and emergency settings. Course Content: Patient Assessment Airway Management & Respiratory Emergencies Circulatory Emergencies & Shock Hemorrhage & Soft Tissue Trauma Musculoskeletal Injuries Chest, Abdominal & Pelvic Injuries Head & Spinal Injuries Acute & Chronic Illnesses Poisoning Environmental Illnesses Special Populations Crisis Intervention Patient Transportation Multiple-Casualty Incidents Pharmacology Workplace Emergencies Course Format / Duration: 40 hours – Mandatory recertification training Prerequisite: A valid Emergency Medical Responder certification is required to attend this recertification course. Certification: 3-year Emergency Medical Responder certification Recertification Requirement: Once the recertification certification expires, participants must complete the full Emergency Medical Responder course again. Professional Training: This course is designed for professionals responsible for initial patient assessment, emergency interventions, ongoing patient care, and transportation to an appropriate healthcare facility. Course content follows applicable jurisdictional requirements and the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as defined by the Paramedic Association of Canada.
