
Psychological First Aid Blended Learning
Service Description
Complete the Psychological First Aid – Self-Care online course, followed by a mandatory in-class session. This course helps learners understand the effects of stress, loss, trauma, and grief while developing strategies to support their own wellbeing and help others cope with stressful experiences. Using the Canadian Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model, learners participate in case-based learning and discussions tailored to their audience. Course Content: Psychological First Aid Stress, Distress, Loss & Grief Trauma & Indicators Vulnerable Populations Supportive Communication Look, Listen, Link, Live Resiliency & Protective Factors Personal Protection Self-Care Policies & Legislation Case Studies Course Format / Duration: 45–90 minutes online learning – Complete the Psychological First Aid – Self-Care course at your own pace. (Online learning time will vary depending on the learner) Self-Care: Mandatory Caring for Others: Optional 7 hours in class – Mandatory case-based learning, discussion, and practical application Prerequisite: The Psychological First Aid – Self-Care online course must be successfully completed before attending the mandatory in-class session. Recommended Age: 16 years and older Certification: 3-year Psychological First Aid certification
